Eurofins is seeking a Computational Scientist to join the SmartLab within Drug Product Design and Supply. This role focuses on developing and deploying automation and technology processes for pharmaceutical drug candidates in a laboratory setting.

The successful candidate will design, prototype, and develop laboratory automation solutions as part of a multidisciplinary team. Responsibilities include assisting with the design and testing of modular hardware for data-rich experimentation, enabling the use of digital tools for machine learning and self-optimization, and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to implement automated equipment and develop novel solutions for laboratory experimentation.

Candidates should possess a Master of Science degree in Automation Engineering, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Data Sciences, or a closely related discipline. Alternatively, a Bachelor's degree in these fields with 2-4 years of relevant laboratory experience is acceptable. Strong coding skills in C/C++ or Python, experience with APIs and Open Platform Communications, and proficiency in data processing, including AI agents, machine learning, and Bayesian optimization, are required. Experience with computer-aided vision systems for product quality analysis and basic mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills are also necessary.

The position offers a competitive hourly compensation ranging from $25 to $27.25. The role is based in Groton, Connecticut, with a standard schedule of Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and may require overtime as needed.
