Gilbert + Tobin is seeking a Conflicts and AML Coordinator for a 12-month fixed-term contract. This role is integral to the firm's compliance and new business intake functions, ensuring efficient and compliant client onboarding processes. The position is based in Sydney, Melbourne, or Perth, and involves close collaboration with the General Counsel team, partners, lawyers, executive assistants, and business services teams.

The primary responsibilities include maintaining the conflicts and AML database to ensure accurate and complete records, coordinating information gathering for conflicts requests, and supporting the progression of checks and approvals. The role also involves monitoring workflows across conflicts, AML, and matter opening processes, identifying and resolving data inconsistencies, and supporting reporting and process enhancements. Acting as a central coordination point, the coordinator will liaise with various teams and escalate issues as necessary.

The ideal candidate will have experience in coordination, compliance, risk, conflicts, legal operations, or matter intake, preferably within a professional services environment. Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage competing priorities are essential. Effective communication skills, sound judgment, and proficiency with databases and workflow tools are also required. The candidate should be capable of handling confidential information with care and working collaboratively across teams.
