Lila Sciences is seeking a skilled Technical Science Writer to join our team on a contract basis. In this role, you will be instrumental in translating complex scientific and technical concepts into clear, accessible content for diverse audiences, including customers, partners, government stakeholders, investors, and potential employees. As a Technical Science Writer, your primary responsibilities will include writing and editing high-quality articles, explainers, technical overviews, case studies, and multimedia scripts that accurately convey complex scientific topics. You will adapt messaging and formats to meet the specific needs of various stakeholders, ensuring that each piece of content is tailored appropriately. Additionally, you will oversee the development of visuals and multimedia elements, such as figures, diagrams, infographics, and short-form videos, to enhance comprehension and engagement.
To succeed in this role, you should possess a Bachelor's or Master's degree in life sciences, chemistry, materials science, journalism, or a related field. A PhD is highly desirable. Proven experience as a science writer or journalist, with a portfolio of work published in reputable outlets, is essential. Strong ability to explain complex scientific concepts to diverse audiences without compromising technical integrity is crucial. Experience managing or leading a team of writers, including contractors, is preferred. Proficiency in creating or overseeing the creation of visual and multimedia content is a significant plus.
