Corporate Counsel

Alumni Ventures is seeking a pragmatic, business-minded Corporate Counsel to join its Legal & Compliance team. This role offers an opportunity to work closely with senior leadership, investment teams, and outside counsel to provide clear, practical legal advice that enables growth while managing risk. The position is based in Manchester, NH (preferred) or Boston, MA, and involves supporting product development, fund formation, regulatory compliance, and international expansion initiatives.

Key responsibilities include providing timely legal advice across commercial, regulatory, and operational matters, supporting the formation and governance of entities and funds, assisting with structuring and launching new investment products, and ensuring data privacy compliance. The Corporate Counsel will also review marketing and investor communications for regulatory compliance, manage outside counsel engagements, oversee regulatory filings, and help develop policies and training to promote a culture of compliance across the company.

The ideal candidate will have 4 to 8+ years of relevant experience in a law firm or in-house legal department, with exposure to securities, regulatory compliance, fund formation, private funds, financial services, and international issues. A J.D. from an accredited law school and an active bar license in at least one U.S. jurisdiction are required. Strong analytical judgment, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-moving environment are essential.
