Corporate Counsel
Legend Biotech is a global biotechnology company headquartered in Somerset, New Jersey, dedicated to developing advanced cell therapies for life-threatening diseases. The company is seeking a Corporate Counsel to join its Legal team in Bridgewater, NJ. This role involves providing legal support for the company's US and EU commercial, R&D, and clinical operations.
The Corporate Counsel will be responsible for drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a wide range of commercial agreements, including master service agreements, manufacturing and supply agreements, quality agreements, confidentiality agreements, consulting agreements, SAAS agreements, and staffing agreements. The role requires close collaboration with internal stakeholders such as Procurement, Finance, IT, Commercial, R&D, Clinical, and Medical teams to effectively drive contracts and transactions to conclusion. Additionally, the Corporate Counsel will support contract intake and prioritization, assist in the continuous improvement of contracting processes, and help develop and maintain standard contract forms and templates.
Candidates should have 4-8 years of relevant experience, including drafting, reviewing, and negotiating complex agreements, preferably within the life sciences or pharmaceutical industry. A J.D. degree from an accredited U.S. law school with high academic achievement is required. Applicants must be licensed to practice law in one or more U.S. states, with admission to the New Jersey Bar or eligibility for in-house qualification in New Jersey. Knowledge of the legal and regulatory environment applicable to a global life sciences company is preferred, including familiarity with the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act, the False Claims Act, the Anti-Kickback Statute, and the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and digital contract lifecycle management tools is also necessary.
The compensation package includes a base salary range of $163,468 to $230,551 per year, with additional performance-based bonuses and equity available for eligible roles.
