TikTok's Privacy and Data Protection Office (PDPO) is seeking a Data Engineer Graduate to join their Risk and Governance organization in San Jose, California. This role focuses on enhancing data engineering infrastructure, building automated pipelines, and integrating data from APIs to drive privacy-related insights and monitoring.
Key responsibilities include building scalable monitoring systems with automated alerts for privacy compliance, enhancing and optimizing current data infrastructure, designing and building automated pipelines for data collection, transformation, and reporting, developing data integrations via APIs, exploring the integration of AI and agent-based systems into data workflows, conducting data investigations and analysis to detect privacy risks, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver robust data solutions.
Candidates should have a Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Analytics, Mathematics, or related technical fields. Required skills include solid programming abilities in Python and SQL, experience with API integration and automated data pipeline design, hands-on experience with big data technologies such as Hive, Spark, Kafka, or Flink, and familiarity with data visualization platforms like Tableau. Strong problem-solving, communication, and presentation skills, along with a self-driven work ethic, are essential. Knowledge of privacy, data security, or compliance, and familiarity with TikTok's product features are preferred.
The base salary range for this position is $118,657 to $187,200 annually. Compensation may vary based on qualifications, skills, experience, and location. Employees have day-one access to medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) savings plan with company match, paid parental leave, short-term and long-term disability coverage, life insurance, and wellbeing benefits. Additional benefits include 10 paid holidays per year, 10 paid sick days per year, and 17 days of Paid Personal Time, prorated upon hire with increasing accruals by tenure.
