Data Platform Operations Engineer – Performance
IMC is seeking a Data Platform Operations Engineer to support the Performance Team's data platform. This role is pivotal in ensuring the reliability, accuracy, and performance of data systems that underpin performance analysis and decision-making within the company. The position is production-facing and involves close collaboration with the Performance team and other stakeholders to maintain robust, observable, and efficient data workflows.
Key responsibilities include owning the operational health of the Performance Team's data platform, monitoring and maintaining ETLs and data pipelines for correctness and stability, designing and maintaining data quality checks and alerting specific to performance data, investigating and resolving data issues and pipeline failures, troubleshooting GitLab CI/CD pipeline issues related to performance data workflows, monitoring workloads and resource usage to identify and resolve bottlenecks, building and maintaining operational tooling and automation, and continuously tuning data pipelines to improve performance and resource efficiency.
Candidates should have at least 3 years of experience in software or data engineering with an operational focus, a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related field (strongly preferred), proficiency in Python with hands-on experience using PySpark and Pandas, experience supporting production ETL or data processing systems, familiarity with Git-based development workflows and CI/CD systems (GitLab preferred), strong analytical skills and attention to detail, and comfort taking ownership in a performance- and reliability-critical environment. Additional desirable qualifications include experience with performance-critical or high-throughput systems and exposure to workload scheduling, resource management, or cluster-based computing.
The base salary for this role ranges from $185,000 to $225,000 USD. In addition to the base salary, full-time, permanent positions are eligible for a discretionary bonus and benefits, including paid leave and insurance.
