Data Privacy Lawyer

Axiom is seeking an experienced Data Privacy Lawyer to provide expert legal counsel on privacy compliance for Canadian and multinational corporations. This role involves reviewing, drafting, and updating privacy policies, negotiating master services agreements, and supporting the development of guidelines and training tools to ensure privacy accountability and compliance. The ideal candidate will have over seven years of experience, exceptional academic and law firm credentials, and a thorough understanding of privacy laws such as GDPR, PIPEDA, and the Privacy Act.

Key responsibilities include providing legal advice on privacy compliance requirements, reviewing and updating privacy policies, and collaborating directly with business clients to offer practical solutions for various corporate policies. The role also involves negotiating and drafting master services agreements in line with global privacy standards and supporting the development of guidelines, training, and tools to promote privacy accountability and compliance.

Candidates should have at least seven years of experience with exceptional academic and law firm credentials; in-house experience is considered a plus. A member in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario is required. Applicants should possess substantive data protection and data privacy experience, with an in-depth knowledge of Canadian, U.S., and EU privacy statutes, including GDPR, PIPEDA, and the Privacy Act. Experience providing regulatory and policy advice in data protection, privacy law, and other areas of information law is essential.
