Data Science Team Lead

The Data Science Team Lead at Riskified will oversee a team of 3-5 data scientists, guiding the development of algorithms and analytical solutions that enhance the company's product offerings. This role involves close collaboration with Product Managers to align the team's direction with company objectives, ensuring that the data science initiatives effectively support Riskified's mission to empower businesses in e-commerce growth.

Key responsibilities include leading the research and development of machine learning capabilities, overseeing the training of strategic models, and standardizing processes within the team. The Team Lead will also work closely with Development, Product, and Analytics teams to implement and integrate models into production, continuously experimenting with new methods to improve product offerings through complex experimental designs.

Candidates should have a minimum of 3 years of experience managing a data science team of at least three individual contributors, along with 3 years of hands-on experience implementing machine learning algorithms in production environments. A Master's degree in Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field is required. Strong foundations in machine learning theory, statistical modeling, and experience in supervised learning at scale are essential. Additionally, the ability to translate business KPIs into technical roadmaps and contribute high-quality code is expected.
