Data Strategist - Data Strategy & Integration
The Data Strategist role at Similarweb involves blending technical expertise, analytical thinking, and business acumen to help clients leverage Similarweb's data for impactful outcomes. This position is part of the Data Strategy & Integration team, collaborating closely with Sales, Account Management, Data Solution Engineers, and client-side technical leaders to define and operationalize data strategies across complex environments. Similarweb, a leader in digital intelligence, empowers over 6,000 global customers, including industry giants like Google, eBay, and Adidas, to make data-driven decisions that drive their digital strategies.
Key responsibilities include defining data strategies and analytical frameworks tied to business outcomes, translating business questions into scalable data use cases, and designing solutions across investment research, product intelligence, OEM data products, and enterprise analytics. The role also involves leading coordination across clients and internal teams, scoping and orchestrating data initiatives from discovery through early production, and managing risks, dependencies, and stakeholder expectations. Additionally, the Data Strategist will guide the integration of Similarweb data into modern data stacks, build data samples and prototypes using SQL, Python, or BI tools, and develop deep expertise in key verticals such as Investors, Big Tech, OEM, and Enterprise.
Candidates should have a minimum of three years of experience in data strategy, analytics, data science, or technical pre-sales, with a background in leading complex, multi-stakeholder data initiatives. Strong proficiency in SQL and/or Python for data analysis is required, along with familiarity with APIs, cloud platforms, and modern data ecosystems like Snowflake, Databricks, AWS, or GCP. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills are essential, as is the ability to translate data into clear business value. Experience in investing, Big Tech, OEM/data products, or enterprise analytics is considered a plus.
The base salary range for this position in New York City is $90,000 to $145,000, plus benefits including medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) plan, potential equity, an employee stock purchase plan, and paid sick and parental leave. This position is also eligible to participate in the company's sales incentive plan, with a maximum target on-target earnings (OTE) of up to $165,000, depending upon the final terms of employment and achievement of established targets. Individual compensation is based upon a number of factors, including qualifications and relevant experience.
