Data, Trends & Insights Manager
The Data, Trends & Insights Manager is a key role within WPP Beauty Tech Labs, a specialized team embedded in Wavemaker, dedicated to advancing beauty marketing for L'Oréal Groupe. This position focuses on converting social media data and emerging trends into actionable insights, influencing campaign strategies across 32 renowned beauty brands. The role directly impacts how brands like Maybelline, Lancôme, L'Oréal Paris, and Kérastase engage with contemporary audiences on platforms such as Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and Pinterest.
Key responsibilities include serving as the insights lead across L'Oréal Groupe's brand portfolio, collaborating closely with creative and strategy teams, division leads, L'Oréal advocacy teams, and brand managers to ensure data informs all major strategic decisions. The role encompasses analyzing multiple social platforms using tools like Traackr, Brandwatch, Market View Online, Power BI, and Google Analytics. A core weekly deliverable is a trends report shared with both the WPP Beauty Tech Labs team and L'Oréal, designed to inform campaign and brand planning in real time. Additionally, the manager oversees influencer campaign measurement, tracking ROI, engagement, reach, and brand perception impact to demonstrate commercial value and guide future investment decisions.
The ideal candidate possesses proven experience in data analysis, social media insights, or trends roles, with a strong understanding of platforms including TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, and Pinterest. Proficiency with analytics and reporting tools such as Traackr, Power BI, and Google Analytics is essential, along with experience using social listening platforms like Brandwatch or Meltwater. Strong quantitative skills are required to conduct statistical analysis and extract meaningful insights from complex datasets. Excellent communication skills are necessary to translate complex data into compelling narratives for diverse stakeholders. A collaborative working style and strong organizational skills are also important for managing multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
