Decision Engineer
Capital on Tap is seeking a Decision Engineer to join their decisioning team, which is responsible for managing the platform that powers customer application decisions, including policy rules and scorecards. This role offers flexibility, allowing candidates to work remotely, from the Cardiff office, or the London office. The Decision Engineer will collaborate closely with various teams across the business to ensure that decisions are accurate, fair, and operate smoothly.
In this role, the Decision Engineer will be responsible for building and maintaining the rules and logic that drive automated customer decisions. They will work with Data Science, Credit, and Business Operations teams to understand requirements and implement changes on the platform. Monitoring the performance of decisioning processes, identifying and resolving issues, and contributing to process improvements based on data and observations are also key aspects of the role. Additionally, the Decision Engineer will collaborate with wider engineering and IT teams on data-related projects.
The ideal candidate will have experience working with decision engines or rules-based platforms, preferably in financial services or fintech. Familiarity with tools such as GDS Link, Experian PowerCurve, or Provenir is advantageous but not essential. Proficiency in SQL is helpful, and exposure to Python is beneficial. A methodical approach to problem-solving, attention to detail, curiosity, and a willingness to learn new tools and technologies are essential. Good communication skills are necessary to explain technical topics to non-technical stakeholders.
