The Director of AV Product Engineering at Wayve will lead the Product Engineering group within the AI Engineering organization, reporting directly to the VP of Autonomy. This pivotal role is essential for the commercialization of Wayve's autonomous vehicle technology, transforming advanced AI models into production-level capabilities. The director will oversee multiple teams focusing on Driving, ADAS, Parking, and HMI functionalities, ensuring alignment with company objectives and technical excellence.

Key responsibilities include defining and owning the technical vision, strategy, and metrics for the AV Product Engineering division. The director will establish solid machine learning practices, attract technical leadership, and coordinate with other teams across Wayve. Additionally, the role involves building technical capabilities, developing talented engineers, and fostering a culture of impact, performance, and health within the organization.

Candidates should have a proven track record in delivering successful autonomy products that rely on complex AI models. Experience in leading complex teams, including multiple management layers or matrixed structures, is essential. Domain expertise in autonomy products such as autopilot/navigation, active safety, and parking is required. Strong product delivery skills, including roadmap articulation and interface with leadership and business functions, are necessary. Execution skills in resource allocation, program planning, and execution over a 1-2 year horizon are also important. A solid foundation in engineering practices, including code development, testing, and serviceability, is expected. A BS or MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.

This is a full-time role based in either London or Sunnyvale. Wayve operates a hybrid working policy that combines time together in offices and workshops to fuel innovation, culture, relationships, and learning, with time spent working from home. The reasonably estimated salary for this role ranges from $440,000 to $580,000, plus a competitive equity package. Actual compensation is based on the candidate's skills, qualifications, and experience.
