Director, Business & Legal Affairs
Golden State Group is seeking a Director of Business & Legal Affairs to play a pivotal role in shaping the legal framework of its dynamic sports and entertainment operations. This position offers the opportunity to collaborate with various business units, including the Warriors, Valkyries, Santa Cruz Warriors, Chase Center, and Thrive City, all while reporting directly to the Chief Legal Officer.
The Director will manage the entire contracting lifecycle for complex, high-value commercial agreements, ensuring strategic alignment across the organization. Key responsibilities include overseeing transactional matters related to Corporate Partnerships, Premium Sales, Ticketing, and other revenue-generating programs. Additionally, the role involves providing strategic legal support for sponsorships and partner activations, ensuring compliance with regulatory, brand, and contractual standards.
Candidates must possess a Juris Doctor degree with an active bar license and be eligible to practice in-house in California. A minimum of seven years of legal experience is required, ideally combining top-tier law firm training with in-house counsel work in sectors such as sports, entertainment, media, technology, live events, or real estate. Expertise in complex commercial transactions, including drafting and negotiating high-value agreements, is essential. Strong strategic judgment, business acumen, and exceptional communication skills are also critical for success in this role.
The compensation package includes an on-target earnings range of $245,000 to $305,000, comprehensive medical, dental, and vision benefits for employees and dependents, employer 401(k) match, and generous paid time off plans, including vacation, summer half-day Fridays, and parental leaves.
