Director, Enterprise Platform
Lila Sciences is seeking an experienced engineering leader to establish and lead the Enterprise Platform team within the Lila Product division. This team is responsible for developing foundational systems essential for enterprise readiness, including authentication, authorization, multi-tenancy, billing, data protection, tenant configurations, and customer-facing APIs. The role combines ensuring platform reliability with innovative product development, aiming to redefine how enterprise software is built, operated, and scaled in cloud environments.
The Director will oversee the production of core enterprise capabilities such as multi-tenancy and tenant isolation, SSO/SAML integration, role-based access control (RBAC), tenant administration consoles, metering and billing infrastructures, and audit logging. Additionally, the role involves advancing AI-powered systems for self-service tenant data migrations, intelligent customer observability, automated compliance workflows, and developing AI-native external APIs that facilitate programmatic interactions with Lila's platform.
Key responsibilities include recruiting, developing, and leading a high-performing team of software engineers focused on enterprise platform systems. The Director will define and execute the technical roadmap for enterprise platform capabilities, balancing new product development, quality improvements, and operational maintenance. Collaborating with product, design, security, sales, and customer success teams to define requirements and prioritize the enterprise roadmap is essential. Ensuring the reliability, availability, and security of enterprise-critical infrastructure and driving innovative, AI-powered solutions for self-service enterprise operations are also critical aspects of the role.
Candidates should possess over 12 years of software development experience, with a focus on Enterprise SaaS product development, and at least 5 years of experience leading senior engineers. Deep expertise in enterprise SaaS platform systems, including authentication/authorization (OAuth 2.0, OIDC, SAML), multi-tenancy, RBAC, billing/metering, configurations, SDKs, and APIs, is required. Experience with modern cloud-native architectures (Kubernetes, Terraform, AWS/GCP) and event-driven systems is also necessary. A BS, MS, or Ph.D. in Computer Science or a related field is preferred.
Lila Sciences offers competitive compensation, including bonus potential and generous early equity. The expected base salary range for this position is $232,000 to $304,000 USD, reflecting the candidate's unique background, expertise, and impact.
