Director of Account Executives (SMB) (Position located in DC)
The Director of Account Executives (SMB) at KnowBe4 is responsible for leading a team of 12-15 Account Executives, focusing on small and medium-sized business sales. This role is pivotal in driving the company's growth by ensuring the team meets and exceeds sales quotas through targeting new business and reactivating lapsed customer accounts. The position is based in Arlington, Virginia, serving the Washington, DC area.
Key responsibilities include managing and coaching the sales team to develop world-class sales professionals, monitoring team performance metrics, and maintaining accurate sales pipelines. The director will conduct weekly pipeline reviews to ensure forecast accuracy and sales goal achievement. Additionally, the role involves supporting Account Executives in closing deals, handling customer objections, and implementing coaching plans to enhance skills. The director will also drive the adoption of AI-powered sales technologies and champion innovative sales methodologies to optimize team productivity.
Candidates should have at least 1 year of sales management experience and 3 years in a closing sales role within IT, SaaS, or cybersecurity sectors. An associate's or bachelor's degree in a relevant field is strongly preferred. Proficiency with advanced sales tools such as SalesLoft, Gong, Marketo, ZoomInfo, and Salesforce is essential. A solid understanding of compliance frameworks like SOC 2 and HIPAA is also required. Strong leadership skills, including dynamic coaching and mentorship abilities, are crucial for building and maintaining a high-impact, mission-driven team.
