Director of Business Continuity
The Director of Business Continuity at Morgan & Morgan is a leadership role within the Technology team, responsible for developing, planning, executing, and testing the resiliency of business services. This position requires a comprehensive understanding of both technical solutions and business functions to ensure the firm's operations remain uninterrupted during service disruptions. The role is based in Florida, with flexibility for other locations.
Key responsibilities include serving as the primary point of contact and subject matter expert for business continuity, protecting business services according to defined recovery time and point objectives, securing senior leadership support and funding for the program, and periodically reporting the state of resiliency capabilities to stakeholders. The director will also maintain plans, documentation, and registers for the program, work with stakeholders to define benchmarks and metrics, and review third-party obligations for resiliency.
The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience managing a business continuity program for a medium to large enterprise, with proven success in maintaining business operations during service disruptions in Salesforce and Microsoft ecosystems. Essential skills include excellence in communicating business risk to executives and technical professionals, the ability to translate complex technical concepts into executive-level language, and expertise in performing business impact analysis. Self-motivation, ambition, and a drive to learn and experiment are also important.
Preferred qualifications include experience implementing controls from frameworks such as ISO 22301 or NIST 800-34, active membership in a business continuity professional organization (e.g., BCI, DRII), current business continuity certifications such as Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP) or Certificate of the Business Continuity Institute (CBCI), practical experience with Agile project management, and prior leadership or management experience.
