Director of Design
As the Director of Design at Lila Sciences, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the user experience across both digital and physical products. Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, you will ensure that the Lila App and Autonomous Science labs provide intuitive and efficient interfaces that align with the company's mission to achieve scientific superintelligence.
Your primary responsibilities will include leading key design initiatives to establish a cohesive, brand-aligned aesthetic across all platforms. You will oversee the end-to-end design process of the native app, from creating wireframes and interactive prototypes to developing high-fidelity designs that effectively translate user needs into clear interfaces. Additionally, you will build and maintain a comprehensive design system to ensure consistency and scalability, while fostering collaborative feedback loops with engineers, data scientists, and product managers to refine and implement designs.
To succeed in this role, you should have over five years of experience in digital product design, particularly within SaaS or data-intensive applications. A strong portfolio showcasing a range of work from research and wireframing to polished visual designs is essential. Proficiency with design tools such as Figma, Sketch, or Adobe XD, along with a deep understanding of interaction design, information architecture, and accessibility best practices, is required. An openness to leveraging the latest AI tools to redefine design processes and excellent communication skills are also crucial.
Lila Sciences offers a competitive compensation package, including bonus potential and generous early equity. The expected base salary range for this position is between $232,000 and $304,000 USD, with the final offer reflecting your unique background, expertise, and impact.
