Director of Engineering (m/f/d)
Affinidi is seeking an experienced and inspiring Director of Engineering to lead our global Affinidi Elements engineering organization. In this role, you will manage multiple teams and engineering leaders, driving delivery excellence, scaling engineering practices, and fostering a high-performing culture across our product portfolio. This position reports directly to the Vice President of Engineering.
Key responsibilities include defining the technical strategy and architectural vision for the Affinidi Elements platform, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security. You will architect complex distributed systems, guide teams in applying advanced cryptographic and decentralized technologies, and oversee the design and development of high-scale, high-performance production systems. Additionally, you will collaborate with product, design, and business stakeholders to align engineering execution with product strategy and establish engineering best practices to scale teams effectively.
The ideal candidate will have over 15 years of software engineering experience, including at least 5 years in senior leadership roles managing multiple teams and engineering managers. A proven track record of scaling engineering organizations in high-growth environments is essential. Strong expertise in cryptography, blockchain, decentralized identity, and zero-knowledge proof systems is required, along with experience in cloud-native environments, microservices, and event-driven architectures. Proficiency in programming languages such as JavaScript, TypeScript, Node.js, Dart, and Rust is highly desirable.
