Director, Operational Excellence
Gong is seeking a Director of Operational Excellence to establish and lead a centralized Product & Engineering Operations team. This team will be responsible for creating and maintaining the operating system that connects Product and Engineering across all stages, including discovery, planning, execution, release readiness, and post-release learning. The role is based in Tel Aviv and offers an opportunity to shape the future of revenue intelligence within a rapidly growing company.
In this position, the Director will lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team, setting clear expectations and promoting operational excellence. They will design and continuously evolve the Product & Engineering operating system, encompassing workflows, governance, planning cadences, lifecycle standards, decision frameworks, templates, and handoffs. The Director will also create structures for strong portfolio planning, capacity visibility, cross-pillar alignment, executive visibility, and leadership tradeoff discussions across product, infrastructure, reliability, security, and customer-driven work. Additionally, they will leverage AI, automation, tooling standards, dashboards, templates, and knowledge systems to reduce friction, improve visibility, and facilitate the adoption of the operating system by teams.
The ideal candidate will have over 10 years of experience in Product Operations, Engineering Operations, Business Operations, Strategy & Operations, or Operational Excellence within SaaS, product, or R&D-intensive environments. They should possess strong people management skills, with a proven track record of managing and developing high-performing teams. Experience in designing and implementing scalable processes and operating systems that enhance speed and clarity without introducing unnecessary bureaucracy is essential. The candidate should also have a deep understanding of AI, automation, and tooling standards, with the ability to integrate these technologies into operational workflows to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
