Director - Strategy
The Director of Strategy at WPP Media is responsible for leading the development of digital narratives for brands, particularly focusing on clients such as Airbnb. This role involves crafting strategies that leverage local insights, cultural trends, and socio-economic shifts to drive brand growth and engagement. The position is based in Bangalore, India, and reports to the Strategy Lead, with a dotted line to the Business Lead.
Key responsibilities include conducting in-depth research to understand category dynamics, consumer behaviors, and competitive landscapes. The Director will present comprehensive analyses on audience attitudes and emerging trends, engage directly with clients on strategic projects, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate insights into actionable media recommendations. Additionally, the role involves mentoring teams to proactively address brand challenges and opportunities.
Candidates should possess a minimum of 7–10 years of progressive leadership experience in strategy, planning, consulting, or media roles. Essential skills include the ability to dissect complex brand and market data, proficiency with tools like TGI, GWI, and AOP for scenario planning, and strong communication and presentation abilities. Familiarity with digital marketing principles, including OTTs, video, social media, and key opinion leaders (KOLs), is also required.
