Employment Legal Counsel - APAC
IMC is seeking an experienced Employment Legal Counsel to join its APAC Legal team based in Sydney, Australia. This role involves providing comprehensive legal support on employment and workplace matters across the Asia Pacific region, with a primary focus on Australia. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with HR, business leadership, and global legal counterparts to navigate complex employment issues within a fast-paced trading environment.
Key responsibilities include advising on a full spectrum of employment-related matters, such as recruitment, employee relations, payroll compliance, and workplace legislation adherence. The role also involves drafting and reviewing employment documentation, managing intra-group and cross-border transfers, and ensuring compliance with privacy regulations. Additionally, the counsel will monitor legal developments affecting IMC as an employer in the APAC region and provide strategic input on managing employment-related legal risks.
The ideal candidate will possess a current Australian practicing certificate and have 6–8+ years of post-qualification experience with a strong focus on employment law and privacy. Deep expertise in Australian employment law is essential, while exposure to other Asia Pacific jurisdictions is highly desirable. The role requires proven experience in handling complex employee relations matters, strong stakeholder management skills, and the ability to work independently across different legal jurisdictions and time zones.
