Engineer
VGW is seeking a Software Engineer to join our Engineering team in Poland. As a key member of our team, you will contribute to the development of our free-to-play online social games, ensuring high-quality and engaging experiences for our players. Our Engineering team values doing things the right way, emphasizing ownership, and embracing cloud-native practices such as CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, Observability, and Cybersecurity.
In this role, you will be responsible for building and delivering high-quality product features as part of a collaborative engineering team. Your day-to-day tasks will include writing clean, maintainable code, following best practices for secure software development, and contributing to sprint planning, estimation, stand-ups, and reviews. Additionally, you will apply continuous delivery practices, including automated testing and clear, concise pull requests, while maintaining high standards of performance, reliability, security, and product quality. Participation in technical design and architecture discussions, as well as contributing to engineering improvements, will also be key aspects of your responsibilities.
The ideal candidate will have at least 4 years of experience with strong skills in TypeScript and Node.js, with exposure to React. Experience working with cloud infrastructure, ideally AWS, and proficiency with PostgreSQL are essential. Familiarity with Kubernetes for container orchestration and deployment management, a proven track record with high-load systems and distributed architectures, and the ability to troubleshoot performance issues and optimize backend systems are also required. Strong communication skills, with the ability to mentor and collaborate across teams, are highly valued.
