As an Engineering Manager for Canva's Native Video Engine (NVE) team, you will lead the development of a cross-platform rendering and processing infrastructure that powers video playback, export, and editing experiences across iOS, Android, Web, and Backend platforms. This role involves driving strategy and execution for high-performance video rendering systems, collaborating closely with Video Editing, Platform, Product, and Portable Platform teams to deliver reliable and scalable video capabilities. You will also support the evolution of Canva’s video infrastructure, focusing on playback, export, editing, and performance-critical workflows.

In this position, your key responsibilities will include leading a team dedicated to building Canva’s Native Video Engine, fostering a strong engineering culture centered on technical excellence, collaboration, experimentation, and continuous improvement. You will be responsible for coaching, mentoring, and supporting engineers through feedback and career development conversations. Contributing to cross-team alignment and technical direction across Canva’s Video Platform group will also be a significant part of your role.

Joining Canva means becoming part of a team that is redefining how the world experiences design. The Native Video Engine team is at the foundation of this vision, building and scaling a cross-platform C/C++ rendering and multimedia processing engine that powers video experiences for millions of users globally.
