Remote is seeking an Engineering Team Leader to manage a small product team of 3-5 engineers, encompassing both backend and frontend disciplines. The company specializes in facilitating global employment solutions, enabling businesses to recruit, pay, and manage international teams with ease. Operating fully remotely across six continents, Remote emphasizes innovation, automation, and AI integration in its work culture.

The Engineering Team Leader will dedicate approximately 30% of their time to management tasks, including overseeing team dynamics, providing continuous and constructive feedback, and guiding the professional growth of team members. The remaining time will be spent actively participating in product development. Responsibilities also include involvement in hiring and onboarding processes, redesigning engineering workflows with autonomous agents, and building reusable agentic workflows to enhance delivery speed and reliability.

Candidates must have experience managing an engineering team of at least two people and possess extensive backend development experience with Elixir/Phoenix, Ruby, or functional programming languages. A strong foundation in engineering principles, a proven track record of delivering secure and scalable production systems, and practical experience with agentic or automation workflows are essential. Solid communication skills, organizational abilities, and a commitment to promoting diversity, equality, and inclusion are also required.

The annual salary for this full-time position ranges from $75,450 to $169,700 USD, depending on factors such as location, skills, and experience. Benefits include the ability to work from anywhere, flexible paid time off, flexible working hours, 16 weeks of paid parental leave, mental health support services, stock options, a learning budget, a home office budget with IT equipment, and a budget for local in-person social events or co-working spaces.

Remote fosters a culture of asynchronous work, allowing employees to plan their schedules around their lives rather than meetings. The company encourages proactive ownership, prioritizes life-work balance, and supports employees in putting themselves and their families first. Joining Remote offers the opportunity to be part of a forward-thinking organization that values innovation, inclusivity, and personal growth.
