Remote is seeking an Engineering Team Leader to manage a small product team of 3-5 engineers, encompassing both backend and frontend disciplines. This role involves overseeing team dynamics, fostering a collaborative environment, and ensuring optimized execution of projects. The Team Leader will act as the primary spokesperson for the team, guiding them towards achieving company objectives.

Key responsibilities include dedicating approximately 30% of time to management tasks, with the remainder actively participating in product development. The role involves involvement in hiring processes, onboarding new engineers, and providing continuous, constructive feedback. Additionally, the Team Leader will be responsible for redesigning engineering workflows to incorporate autonomous agents, proposing and operationalizing agentic workflows, and building reusable agentic workflows and primitives in the codebase.

Candidates must have experience managing an engineering team of at least two people and extensive experience with backend technologies such as Elixir/Phoenix, Ruby, or functional programming. Strong engineering fundamentals, a track record of shipping secure, reliable, and scalable production systems, and practical experience with agentic/automation workflows are essential. Solid communication skills, organizational abilities, and a commitment to promoting Remote's values are also required.

The annual salary range for this full-time position is $75,450 to $169,700 USD.
