Entry-Level Attorney
The United Firm | La Liga Defensora, APC is seeking an Entry-Level Criminal Defense Attorney to join their dynamic team in Fresno, California. This role offers a unique opportunity for a recent law graduate or newly admitted attorney to gain hands-on experience in criminal defense within a supportive and growth-oriented environment. The successful candidate will work closely with seasoned attorneys and legal assistants, contributing to a diverse caseload and engaging directly with clients.
In this position, the attorney will be responsible for advising clients on their legal rights, preparing and reviewing legal documents, and representing clients at pretrial hearings. Additional duties include managing court appearances, trials, drafting motions, interviewing witnesses, and conducting legal research. The attorney will also analyze case outcomes using legal precedents, manage a caseload effectively, and gather evidence to support clients' positions. Collaboration with the criminal defense team is essential to develop and implement case strategies.
Candidates should possess a Juris Doctorate degree and an active bar admission; law graduates awaiting admission will also be considered. A demonstrated interest in criminal defense law through law school clinics, volunteer work, or internships is preferred. Strong interpersonal skills, the ability to manage a caseload, and a collaborative team-oriented approach are essential. Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is advantageous but not required. Experience with case management software is also preferred.
The compensation for this role ranges from $80,000 to $100,000 annually, commensurate with experience. Benefits include medical, dental, and vision insurance, paid parking, and paid time off.
