Facilities Manager
Helsing, a defense AI company dedicated to protecting democracies, is seeking a Facilities Manager to oversee the efficient operation, security, and safety of its facilities in Andover. This role is integral to maintaining high safety standards and providing exceptional support to the on-site team.
The Facilities Manager will be responsible for managing hard services maintenance, including plumbing, electrical systems, HVAC, fire safety systems, elevators, and building fabric maintenance. They will act as the Site Security Lead, ensuring all visitors are vetted, justified for entry, signed in, and receive comprehensive safety briefings upon arrival. Additionally, the role involves supervising building works, serving as the primary contact for contractors and the landlord, disseminating relevant information regarding site activities to staff, and managing site safety communications. The Facilities Manager will also serve as the safety lead for the site, conducting near-miss investigations, managing safety notices, acting as the Site Fire Marshal and First Aider, overseeing site and fire risk assessments, responding to out-of-hours emergencies, handling waste management, ensuring adequate team facilities, managing the payment of site-based invoices, coordinating customer visits in collaboration with the Office Manager, and line managing the office support team to ensure effective collaboration and support for all site operations.
Candidates should have proven experience in facilities management or a similar role, with a strong understanding of hard services maintenance, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and other building systems. Excellent security and safety management skills, experience in emergency response and risk assessments, strong organizational and communication skills, the ability to handle multiple priorities and work effectively under pressure, and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite are essential.
