Pine Tree Legal Assistance (PTLA) is seeking a dedicated Family Law and Victim Rights Attorney to join their Bangor office. This role is integral to PTLA's Family Law and Victim Rights Unit, which provides statewide civil legal services to survivors of sexual assault and, in many areas, domestic violence. The attorney will work alongside a team committed to ensuring access to justice for vulnerable populations across Maine.
In this position, the attorney will handle a diverse caseload, including protection from abuse orders, divorce proceedings, parental rights and custody matters, Title IX and other education advocacy, housing advocacy, and employment advocacy. Ideal candidates will possess a Juris Doctor (JD) degree and be admitted to practice law in Maine. Experience in family law, civil litigation, or working with survivors of trauma is highly desirable. Strong communication skills, cultural competency, and a commitment to social justice are essential. The attorney should be able to work independently and as part of a collaborative team, demonstrating empathy and professionalism in all client interactions.
PTLA offers a competitive salary and benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plans, and generous paid time off. Professional development opportunities are available to support the attorney's growth and effectiveness in serving clients. The organization fosters a supportive and inclusive work environment, emphasizing work-life balance and community engagement.

The organization values diversity and encourages applicants from all backgrounds to apply. This role offers a chance to contribute to a mission-driven team dedicated to advancing justice and equity in Maine.
