Field Engineer (Travel/Remote) - Western US
Eurofins is seeking a Senior Field Engineer to perform on-site evaluations of electrical equipment, ensuring compliance with regulatory product safety standards such as UL, NFPA, CSA, and ANSI. This role involves extensive travel within the Western United States, including cities like San Francisco, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, and Phoenix, with occasional international assignments. The position is entirely remote, requiring proximity to a major airport for travel convenience.
Key responsibilities include conducting field evaluations under the Eurofins E&E North America/MET Labs Field Labeling program, reviewing project scopes, coordinating travel arrangements, and communicating with clients and relevant parties. The engineer will assess compliance by reviewing manuals, schematics, and site procedures, documenting construction details, and identifying any non-conformances. Additionally, the role involves determining equipment eligibility for labeling, issuing final reports, and promoting Eurofins' services to clients.
The ideal candidate should possess a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience, with direct field engineering experience at a Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratory (NRTL) or Field Evaluation Body (FEB) using product safety standards. Proficiency with standards such as UL 508A, UL 61010-1, UL 73, NFPA 70, and NFPA 79 is essential. Strong technical writing skills, experience with Microsoft Office Suite, and excellent verbal and written communication abilities are required. The role demands the ability to work in elevated or confined spaces and lift over 30 pounds, along with a solid electrical background and problem-solving skills.
