The FinCrime EDD Team Leader at Capital on Tap will lead and mentor a team of Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) Analysts within the Financial Crime department. This role is pivotal in ensuring the company meets its regulatory obligations related to Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Counter-Terrorist Financing (CTF) across its UK and US operations.

Key responsibilities include overseeing complex EDD investigations on SME customers, particularly those involving intricate ownership structures such as trusts, funds, and overseas entities. The Team Leader will manage team workflows to ensure timely completion of transaction monitoring alerts and EDD reviews, perform quality assurance checks, and collaborate with leadership to refine financial crime policies and onboarding processes. Additionally, the role involves supporting the internal approval process for Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) and serving as a subject matter expert on emerging financial crime risks.

Candidates should have over six years of experience in financial crime roles, with deep expertise in Know Your Business (KYB) requirements for SME corporate customers in both the UK and US. Previous experience leading or mentoring teams within a financial crime environment is essential. The role requires a strong ability to analyze complex ownership structures and make sound, risk-based decisions in a fast-paced environment. Excellent leadership qualities and the ability to communicate complex concepts clearly to both the team and senior stakeholders are also necessary.
