The National Food Lab, a rapidly expanding company dedicated to providing tailored solutions for the food industry, is seeking a Food Scientist to join our dynamic team. Our mission is to assist food, beverage, and supplement companies in delivering safe, healthy, and successful products, thereby advancing food safety, quality, and nutrition. As a Food Scientist, you will play a pivotal role in developing new products from conception through plant scale-up, contributing significantly to our commitment to improving health and lives.

In this role, you will independently plan and execute all phases of the food product development cycle. Key responsibilities include designing and conducting experimental, analytical, and sensory work on both bench and pilot scales, developing analytical methods, and coordinating nutritional and component analyses. You will also be responsible for drafting comprehensive reports and maintaining meticulous documentation. Additionally, you will collaborate with internal and external resources to find innovative solutions and ensure timely communication of key information among clients, team members, and supervisors.

The ideal candidate will possess a PhD degree from an IFT-accredited food science program or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Candidates without a PhD should have a minimum of two years of practical experience in product or process development. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively are essential. Proficiency in Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) is also required.

We offer a competitive salary range between $70,000 and $75,000, along with excellent full-time benefits, including comprehensive medical coverage, dental and vision options, life and disability insurance, a 401(k) plan with company match, and paid vacation and holidays. Overtime and weekend work may be required as plant needs dictate. Please note that this position involves exposure to potential food allergens, and appropriate personal protective equipment must be used as necessary.

Joining The National Food Lab means becoming part of a team that values innovation, collaboration, and professional growth. We are committed to making a positive impact in the food industry and offer ample opportunities for career advancement. If you are passionate about food science and eager to contribute to the development of products that consumers love, we encourage you to apply.
