Fullstack Frontend Engineer
ClearScore Technology Limited is seeking an experienced Fullstack Frontend Engineer to join our agile delivery team in Cape Town, South Africa. This role involves building innovative user experiences using the latest technologies within a high-performance, entrepreneurial environment that values cutting-edge product development and complex problem-solving.
As a Fullstack Frontend Engineer, you will design, build, and maintain full-stack solutions using Node.js and TypeScript, delivering data-driven user interfaces and backend services. Your primary focus will be on server-side development, with occasional client-side tasks when necessary. Responsibilities include building intuitive client UX utilizing design systems and server-driven UI frameworks, optimizing and scaling databases for large-scale applications, and collaborating with colleagues to implement and monitor real-time data pipelines with Kafka. You will also lead the deployment and maintenance of production-grade code and databases across multiple global markets, monitor post-release performance, and contribute to the growth of our technology by driving improvements in standards, tools, and processes.
The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of JavaScript, TypeScript, and React, as well as experience with React and SSR frameworks such as Remix or Next.js. Proficiency in building services using Node.js and technologies like Fastify or Express.js is essential. Experience working in an Agile Scrum environment, strong collaboration skills, and the ability to lead large projects with multiple engineers are also required. A commitment to unit and functional testing using tools such as Jest, React Testing Library, and Enzyme is important, along with knowledge of build tools like Webpack or RollUp. Familiarity with deployment pipeline technologies like AWS and Docker, as well as CI tooling (e.g., Jenkins, Circle CI), is desirable.
