The Head of Automation & AI at WPP Media is a strategic leadership role responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of automation and artificial intelligence initiatives within the agency. This position involves managing a team of approximately 10 developers and data analysts, ensuring the delivery of key projects, and aligning technological investments with the agency's objectives. The role is pivotal in defining the technological direction of the agency in the AI domain, translating advancements into practical solutions.
Key responsibilities include defining the department's roadmap, making decisions on technological investments, and translating AI ecosystem developments into pragmatic solutions for the agency. The role also involves leading and developing the team, setting goals, monitoring performance, and fostering career growth. Additionally, the Head of Automation & AI is responsible for managing a portfolio of projects, prioritizing tasks, ensuring timely and quality delivery, and monitoring success metrics such as business impact and adoption rates. Effective communication and alignment with agency leadership and global WPP priorities are essential aspects of the role.
Candidates should have a minimum of three years of experience leading technical, data, or product teams of at least eight members. A deep understanding of the modern AI ecosystem, including large language models, agents, retrieval-augmented generation, evaluation, and data architectures, is required. The ability to critically assess the feasibility of AI solutions is crucial. Strong decision-making skills, excellent communication abilities across all levels of seniority, and proficiency in both Czech and English are necessary. While active programming is not a core part of the role, a solid technical judgment is expected, including familiarity with SQL and Python for understanding code at a conceptual level.
