The Head of Consumer Communications for North America at Canva will lead the company's brand expansion in a key market. This role, situated within the Global Communications team, focuses on proactive consumer storytelling to enhance Canva's visibility and engagement. The position involves strategic media relations, cultural engagement, and editorial placements across various platforms popular among creators, professionals, and businesses.
Key responsibilities include developing and executing communication strategies, campaigns, and messaging to generate consistent and impactful consumer coverage. The role also involves building Canva's consumer profile through strategic media relations and creative campaigns, leading cultural and trend-driven moments in partnership with the Marketing team, and developing strong media relationships across multiple platforms. Additionally, the position entails creating news and data-driven storytelling opportunities, leading local press events and brand activations, and supporting regional internal communications.
Candidates should have 10-15+ years of experience at high-growth consumer brands, preferably in creativity, lifestyle, or technology industries. A deep understanding of the media landscape and proven ability to develop and implement communication strategies that secure positive press coverage are essential. Strong media relationships across various consumer outlets and experience partnering with senior leaders for media engagements are also required.
The compensation for this role ranges from USD 268,000 to USD 354,000 annually.
