Head of Corporate Development
Mesh is seeking a Head of Corporate Development to lead and expand its mergers and acquisitions (M&A) and strategic partnerships functions. This pivotal role involves shaping the company's growth trajectory by identifying, evaluating, and executing high-impact opportunities. The position is hybrid, based in either San Francisco, CA, or New York City, NY, with three days per week in the office.
In this role, you will build and manage a robust pipeline of M&A opportunities and strategic partnerships within the crypto payments ecosystem. Responsibilities include leading deals from initial outreach through diligence, negotiation, and closing, conducting thorough evaluations of financials, product architecture, API integrations, and commercial viability. You will also develop investment theses, deal frameworks, and scoring models, presenting insights directly to the CEO, SVP, and board. Collaboration with Legal and Finance teams to structure and negotiate deals is essential, as is staying informed about the competitive landscape to identify emerging trends and opportunities.
Ideal candidates will have a Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, or a related field, with over five years of experience in investment banking, growth, venture capital, product, or strategy roles, or in-house corporate development at a fintech or crypto company. Proven experience leading M&A or strategic partnerships from inception to completion is required. A strong understanding of crypto payments infrastructure, including stablecoins, on/off-ramps, exchange integrations, custody, and compliance, is essential. Candidates should be comfortable engaging with crypto APIs and exchange integrations, possess sharp financial acumen, and be technically proficient enough to assess integration complexities and collaborate effectively with engineering teams.
The annual base salary for this role ranges from $200,000 to $225,000, depending on experience and location. Compensation also includes equity and benefits.
