Head of Developer Experience
The Head of Developer Experience at Galaxy is a pivotal role focused on enhancing the end-to-end software delivery process within the organization. This position involves leading the Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) engineering function and developing strategies for fully automated, touchless deployments into production. The role requires close collaboration with engineering, security, infrastructure, and product teams to build a developer platform tailored for high-velocity teams operating in regulated, security-sensitive financial or crypto environments.
Key responsibilities include serving as the primary advocate for developer experience by setting a long-term vision and roadmap, working directly with engineers to identify and address workflow inefficiencies, and translating developer challenges into scalable tooling and automation solutions. The role also involves leading and mentoring a high-performing CI/CD engineering team, architecting a frictionless deployment platform, implementing industry-grade release automation, and ensuring all developer platforms meet rigorous availability and disaster recovery requirements. Additionally, the position requires partnering with Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) and infrastructure teams to build resilient systems, creating and maintaining internal developer tools, and establishing engineering best practices across teams.
The ideal candidate will have over 10 years of engineering experience, including senior-level ownership of developer experience, developer platforms, DevOps, or CI/CD. They should demonstrate success in leading engineering teams and possess expert-level proficiency in languages such as Python, Go, or Bash. Deep experience with AWS and Infrastructure-as-Code tools like Terraform or Ansible is essential, along with mastery of modern CI/CD systems such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, FluxCD, or Harness. A strong background in production release automation, deployment safety, rollback strategies, and experience in financial services, crypto, or other regulated, high-security environments are also required.
Galaxy offers a competitive base salary and discretionary bonus, flexible time off, company-paid holidays and sick leave, comprehensive health and protective benefits for employees and their dependents, a 3% 401(k) company contribution, generous paid parental leave, free virtual coaching and counseling sessions, opportunities to learn about the crypto industry, and a collaborative work environment with smart, entrepreneurial, and fun colleagues.
Galaxy fosters a culture that values excellence, selective effectiveness, alignment with autonomy, transparent disagreement, independent decision-making, and building dream teams. The company operates at the intersection of finance and technology, providing opportunities for growth and innovation in the rapidly evolving digital asset and AI infrastructure sectors.
