High Risk Assessment Specialist
As a High Risk Assessment Specialist at Wise, you will play a critical role in ensuring the company's adherence to regulatory and compliance standards. This position involves mitigating risks associated with high-risk customers while maintaining compliance with Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Counter-Terrorist Financing (CTF) regulations, as well as internal policies aligned with Wise's risk appetite. The role offers an opportunity to deepen expertise in the Know Your Customer (KYC) and AML domains within a dynamic, global technology company dedicated to revolutionizing international money transfers.
Key responsibilities include acting as the escalation point for compliance operations teams, assessing customer risks, and applying risk-based methodologies. You will mentor and consult with other compliance teams, perform risk assessments and enhanced due diligence on complex and high-risk customers, and analyze their business activities and compliance programs. Additionally, you will review and analyze documentation related to AML, sanctions, enhanced due diligence, KYC, and acceptable use policies, ensuring alignment with Wise's internal risk-based approach.
The ideal candidate will possess excellent verbal and written English skills, with additional language skills considered a plus. A minimum of three years of relevant industry experience in financial services, compliance roles, or at a financial services regulator is required. The role demands the ability to work autonomously within well-defined procedures, make difficult decisions under uncertainty, and coordinate information from various sources. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, organizational abilities, attention to detail, and analytical capabilities are essential, along with the capacity to adhere to strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Compensation for this full-time position ranges from BRL 11,500 to BRL 13,500 per month.
