HRI AI Specialist (Robotics)

Hyphen Connect is seeking a Human-Robot Interaction (HRI) Specialist to join our robotics team in Seattle, USA. In this role, you will develop and implement cutting-edge technologies that enable seamless and intuitive interactions between humans and robots. Your work will enhance the capabilities of robots, ensuring they can navigate and communicate effectively with users in various environments.

As an HRI Specialist, your primary responsibilities will include developing intent-recognition models using gaze, gesture, and voice data. You will program socially aware navigation algorithms that respect human personal space and design the visual and auditory feedback systems for the robot's user interface. This role requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams to integrate these interaction paradigms into our robotic platforms.

The ideal candidate will have a background in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) or cognitive science applied to robotics. Experience running user studies and testing interaction paradigms is essential. Additionally, skills in rapid prototyping of AI-driven voice and visual interfaces are required to effectively contribute to the development of our robotic systems.
