Hydrobiologiste Algologue - Phytoplancton

Eurofins Hydrobiologie France is seeking a Hydrobiologist specializing in phytoplankton to join our team in Noyal-Châtillon-sur-Seiche, near Rennes. As part of the Eurofins Scientific network, a global leader in life sciences testing, our laboratory focuses on assessing and monitoring the quality of aquatic environments for a diverse clientele, including public agencies and private companies.

In this role, you will participate in hydrobiological sampling campaigns in lakes and rivers, conduct laboratory analyses of phytoplankton using methods such as Utermöhl sedimentation and inverted microscopy, and calculate biovolumes and IPLAC indices using Phytobs software. Additionally, you will validate analysis reports, draft interpretative and expert reports, and actively contribute to the laboratory's quality assurance processes, including revising procedures related to phytoplankton sampling and analysis.

The ideal candidate holds a minimum of a Bac +2 degree in environmental sciences with a specialization in continental aquatic ecosystems. Prior experience, preferably in a consultancy or with the French Biodiversity Office (OFB), is desirable. Essential qualifications include the ability to work outdoors, proficiency in river fieldwork (swimming skills are mandatory), initiative, autonomy, adaptability, and a valid driver's license. A passion for aquatic environments is highly valued.

This is a full-time, permanent position offering a fixed annual salary over 12 months, supplemented by vacation bonuses, meal vouchers, and company health insurance. The role requires frequent weekly travel across the country, with expenses covered by the company.
