Galaxy is seeking a highly motivated IT Automation Engineer to join our Desktop Support team in New York City. This role offers an opportunity to provide hands-on support across hardware, operating systems, SaaS platforms, and enterprise tools, while proactively identifying opportunities to automate and improve systems at scale. Galaxy is a global leader in digital assets and data center infrastructure, delivering solutions that accelerate progress in finance and artificial intelligence.

In this position, you will deliver high-quality deskside and remote support for hardware, software, and network issues, including white-glove support to executive users. Responsibilities encompass onboarding and offboarding processes, device provisioning, and SaaS account lifecycle management. A key aspect of the role involves identifying repetitive manual processes and designing lightweight automations to eliminate them, utilizing scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell. Collaboration with Security, Engineering, and Infrastructure teams is essential to improve reliability and standardization, as well as building internal documentation and scalable support processes.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, with 3–6 years of experience, including internships. Strong scripting abilities in languages like Python, Bash, or PowerShell are required, along with a solid understanding of operating systems (macOS, Windows) and networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP). Familiarity with APIs, automation concepts, or version control systems such as Git is advantageous. Experience with MDM tools like Jamf or Intune and SaaS administration is a plus. The role demands a strong ownership mentality, high standards for work quality, and clear communication skills to support both executive and technical users.

Galaxy offers a dynamic work environment at the intersection of finance and technology, providing opportunities for professional growth into more advanced technical roles. The company values a culture of builders and overachievers, emphasizing high performance, transparent feedback, and a mission-first approach. Employees are encouraged to embrace and champion the thoughtful adoption of AI to improve team performance and business outcomes, leveraging tools like generative AI and automation platforms to enhance productivity and decision-making.
