IT Network Engineer - Hybrid work in Braga or Porto - m/f/d
Eurofins is seeking an experienced IT Network Engineer to join our dynamic team, offering a hybrid work arrangement in Braga or Porto. As a key member of our cross-functional team, you will collaborate with Application, Storage, Compute, and Cloud Engineers to design and implement secure, high-performance infrastructure across multiple international locations. This role provides an opportunity to influence the entire project lifecycle, from understanding business requirements to solution design, implementation, and ongoing service management.
In this position, you will be responsible for executing network segregation programs, designing and implementing virtual and physical security zones, and supporting the segregation of application environments. Your day-to-day tasks will include managing WAN, LAN, Wi-Fi, VPN, and load balancer services, ensuring high availability and performance of critical applications, and identifying opportunities to innovate and enhance service delivery. Additionally, you will produce high-quality documentation and work closely with Cloud, Compute, Security, and C&S teams to ensure alignment and governance.
The ideal candidate will have at least five years of solid experience in enterprise networking, with strong hands-on expertise in firewalls (FortiGate or Check Point), switching technologies (Cisco, Fortinet, or other vendors), and wireless/Wi-Fi solutions. Proven experience in network infrastructure design and transitions, SD-WAN, data center networking, and complex network migrations is essential. Practical experience in network component maintenance, switch stacking, and familiarity with ticketing tools (preferably ServiceNow) are also required. A collaborative team player with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional environments and a willingness to travel internationally is highly desirable.
