Knowledge Lawyer - Global Financial Markets
Clifford Chance, a leading international law firm with over 33 offices worldwide, is seeking a Knowledge Lawyer to join their Global Financial Markets (GFM) team. This role is based in Dubai and offers an opportunity to work within a dynamic and integrated team that advises on significant finance and capital market transactions across the MENA region and beyond. The GFM team covers areas such as general banking, debt capital markets, Islamic finance, asset and project finance, and includes a strategic Africa team.
As a Knowledge Lawyer, you will be responsible for ensuring that fee-earners are kept up-to-date with legal developments and local market issues. Your duties will include analyzing forthcoming legal and regulatory developments, preparing client briefings, updating internal resources like templates and Topic Guides, and responding to fee-earner queries on legal and regulatory matters. Additionally, you will contribute to the development of thought leadership initiatives, manage and deliver training on local law to lawyers and clients, and encourage knowledge sharing by facilitating post-deal reviews and promoting the use of AI software alongside the Best Delivery Team.
The ideal candidate will have at least four years of commercial transactional experience within a high-profile international law firm. A strong understanding of local UAE laws is essential, along with experience in general banking and finance markets law. Candidates should possess excellent drafting skills, attention to detail, strong organizational abilities, and a proactive approach to providing first-class service to lawyers and clients. Fluency in English (both oral and written) is required; Arabic language skills are advantageous but not essential.
This fixed-term contract role offers the opportunity to work in an innovative and highly regarded Knowledge, Expertise & Thought Leadership (KETL) team. You will be exposed to a range of work across various practice areas, primarily focusing on the Global Financial Markets team, and across jurisdictions.
