Axiom is seeking a Labour & Employment Lawyer to join its team remotely in Canada. The role involves providing comprehensive legal support to clients across various industries, focusing on employment law matters. Key responsibilities include drafting, reviewing, and negotiating employment agreements, employee handbooks, policies, and protocols to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations. The lawyer will collaborate closely with business clients to provide tailored legal advice and practical solutions for corporate and employment challenges. Additional duties involve developing and implementing strategies for effective dispute resolution and risk management related to employment matters, conducting thorough investigations into employment-related issues, advising on reductions in force, and maintaining collaborative relationships with internal stakeholders.

Candidates should have 3-6+ years of in-house experience as an employment lawyer with mid to large corporations, with extensive experience in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating employment agreements, policies, and handbooks. An active license to practice law in Ontario is required, along with exceptional analytical, drafting, and negotiation skills. Experience with collective bargaining and union negotiations, as well as a current awareness of provincial and federal employment legislation, industry trends, and best practices, are essential. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, a client-service orientation, and the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams are also important.
