Axiom Talent Platform is seeking experienced Employment Lawyers to support clients in the Detroit metropolitan area. This role involves providing comprehensive legal counsel across various industries, ensuring compliance with employment laws and mitigating associated risks. As part of Axiom's dynamic team, you will engage directly with clients, offering tailored solutions to complex employment-related challenges.
Key responsibilities include drafting, reviewing, and negotiating employment agreements, separation agreements, employee handbooks, and workplace policies. You will provide legal guidance on matters such as wage and hour compliance, discrimination claims, pay transparency, workplace investigations, and employee relations. Collaborating closely with clients, HR teams, and business leaders, you will manage employment-related legal issues and stay abreast of industry trends and regulatory changes to offer proactive counsel.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience in labor and employment law, with strong knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, including FLSA, FMLA, ADA, and Title VII. A proven track record in advising clients on employment litigation avoidance, workplace investigations, policy development, and risk management strategies is essential. Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills are required. A Juris Doctor degree and licensure to practice law in Michigan, or eligibility for admission, are mandatory.
