Retail Banking Lawyer
Axiom is seeking a Retail Banking Lawyer to provide practical, commercially focused legal advice on consumer financial products, consumer credit, and retail banking regulation. The successful candidate will work closely with retail banks, credit card issuers, mortgage lenders, and other financial institutions to support a range of consumer finance and retail banking matters.
Key responsibilities include advising on consumer banking and finance matters, such as loans, credit cards, mortgages, and buy now, pay later arrangements. The role involves ensuring compliance with regulatory frameworks, including the Consumer Credit Act 1974, FCA Handbook, and Consumer Duty. Additionally, the lawyer will draft, review, and negotiate consumer finance agreements, credit agreements, loan documentation, and customer terms and conditions.
The ideal candidate is a qualified lawyer eligible to practice in the UK, with demonstrated experience in consumer banking, consumer credit, or retail financial services regulation. Strong experience advising retail banks, credit card issuers, mortgage lenders, or consumer finance providers is essential. Proficiency in drafting and advising on consumer finance documentation, including loan agreements and credit agreements, is required. The candidate should possess strong commercial awareness, excellent stakeholder management skills, and the ability to deliver pragmatic, business-focused legal advice.
