HubSpot is seeking a Lead Counsel to join its Commercial Legal Team, providing essential support to the North America Sales teams. This role involves delivering client-centric legal assistance on commercial and legal matters within a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Key responsibilities include reviewing and negotiating various commercial agreements such as SaaS agreements, master services agreements, data processing agreements, consulting agreements, non-disclosure agreements, partnership agreements, and statements of work. The Lead Counsel will collaborate closely with Sales and Deal Desk stakeholders to understand business objectives and drive strategic improvements. Additionally, the role involves working with internal technology teams to develop AI-powered tools and processes that deliver business impact, and collaborating with other legal, compliance, and cross-functional groups to effectively manage HubSpot’s risk.

Candidates must be graduates of an accredited law school, have a minimum of 5+ years of relevant in-house legal experience, and be in good standing and licensed to practice law as a member of a State Bar Association or hold an equivalent professional qualification. Significant experience in independently negotiating Enterprise SaaS contracts, particularly in highly regulated industries such as Financial Services and Healthcare, is required. Excellent legal drafting and writing skills, a strong foundation in data protection and privacy law, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment are essential. The ideal candidate should be enthusiastic about partnering cross-functionally with business stakeholders, possess strong communication skills, and be self-driven and solution-oriented.

The annual cash compensation for this role ranges from $173,000 to $277,000 USD. In addition to cash compensation, eligible roles may participate in HubSpot’s equity plan to receive restricted stock units (RSUs). Benefits are also an important part of the total compensation package, designed to help employees grow better.
