Lead, Insights
Nextdoor is seeking an Insights Lead to spearhead and evolve its Research function during a pivotal phase of the company's growth. This leader will define and drive the research strategy, ensuring that Nextdoor's products are deeply rooted in an understanding of neighbors and small businesses, balancing long-term vision with immediate product impact. The role requires a strategic thinker and people-first leader who can synthesize diverse inputs into a clear point of view and guide teams through ambiguity.
Key responsibilities include setting the research strategy and vision, translating research into actionable insights for senior leadership, and raising the bar for research rigor by establishing standards and practices that ensure methodological excellence. The Insights Lead will also scale research impact across the company by building programs and systems that enable rapid, high-quality research at scale while maintaining depth and integrity. Additionally, the role involves building and nurturing a high-performing team through coaching, mentorship, and career development opportunities.
The ideal candidate will have over 10 years of experience in UX Research or related user-centered research roles, with at least 6 years leading and developing research teams. Demonstrated ability to define research strategy and connect research outcomes to business and product decisions is essential. Strong experience in synthesizing complex, multi-source research into clear narratives and recommendations for senior stakeholders is required. Deep methodological expertise across qualitative and quantitative research methods, along with high emotional intelligence and strong cross-functional collaboration skills, are also necessary.
Compensation for this role ranges from $219,000 to $291,000 annually, with the potential for a meaningful equity grant. Benefits include a variety of health plans, including a 100% covered employee-only plan option, and a OneMedical membership for concierge care. Nextdoor offers a warm and inclusive work environment that embraces a hybrid employment model, blending in-office presence and work-from-home experience for its employees.
Joining Nextdoor means becoming part of a company dedicated to fostering local communities and creating neighborhood connections at scale. The company values empathy, inclusion, and respect for the communities it serves. Employees have opportunities to participate in in-person events such as trainings, off-sites, volunteer days, and team-building exercises, contributing to a vibrant company culture.
