As the Lead Systems Engineer for Passive RF Sensing at Helsing, you will be responsible for the comprehensive integration and performance of the aircraft's electronic surveillance systems, including the Radar Warning Receiver (RWR) and Electronic Support Measures (ESM). Your role will encompass the entire development lifecycle, from defining requirements to overseeing flight tests, ensuring that these systems effectively detect and analyze passive radio frequency signals in complex operational environments.

In this position, your key responsibilities will include translating mission threat scenarios into specific sensor requirements, designing antenna architectures for optimal direction-finding capabilities, and managing emitter library data. You will lead co-site coordination efforts to protect sensitive receivers from onboard transmitters and drive verification campaigns to deliver fully qualified sensor systems. Additionally, you will coordinate with software and avionics teams to ensure seamless data integration and manage supplier technical control to maintain system integrity.

The ideal candidate will hold a degree in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field. You should have experience working with passive RF sensors such as ESM, ELS, or RWR on airborne or similarly complex platforms. A strong understanding of threat radar phenomenology, including parameters like Pulse Repetition Interval (PRI), Pulse Width (PW), and frequency agility, is essential. Hands-on experience with direction-finding architectures, receiver performance specification and validation, and co-site/EMC mitigation strategies is also required.
