Lead Visual Designer (Remote Eligible - Costa Rica)
Smartsheet is seeking a Lead Visual Designer to join its dynamic brand studio. This role is pivotal in shaping the company's visual identity and ensuring consistent, engaging brand representation across all platforms. The Lead Visual Designer will report to the Creative Director based in Costa Rica and will play a key role in the company's growth and brand evolution.
The Lead Visual Designer will be responsible for driving the evolution of the Smartsheet brand by creating innovative design solutions that communicate clearly and delight users. This includes developing and maintaining flexible design systems, component libraries, and brand guidelines. The role also involves leading and mentoring other designers, overseeing projects from conception to completion, managing multiple projects simultaneously, and collaborating closely with stakeholders to ensure alignment with business objectives.
Candidates should have over 10 years of experience in mid-to-senior level roles focused on marketing collateral, brand systems, and digital strategy, preferably within the technology sector. Expertise in Adobe Creative Suite, including Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Creative Cloud, Firefly, and Express, is essential. Additional skills in motion design (After Effects), document design (Google and Microsoft Office), and web design (Figma, Zeplin, Webflow, HTML/CSS, Drupal) are advantageous. A deep understanding of global design trends and the ability to create solutions that resonate across different regions and languages, including familiarity with Generative and Agentic AI, are also important. A bachelor's degree in design, relevant certifications, or equivalent professional experience is required.
